Learn about the National Career Readiness Certificate at an information session at Durham Technical Community College. Wednesday, June 18 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Collins Auditorium on the Main Campus at 1637 E. Lawson Street. The National Career Readiness Certificate provides job seekers with a credential that certifies their skill level and provides employers with an efficient way to assess workplace skills and make employment and training decisions. Higher scores indicate an individual's readiness for a greater range of jobs.
Durham Tech sponsors the NCR certificate in cooperation with the N.C. Community College System, the Durham and Regional Partnership Workforce Development Boards, and the Durham and Orange County JobLink Centers. The nationally recognized certificate confirms competence in applied mathematics, reading for information, and locating information. Guest speakers at the informational session include Alan DeLisle, assistant Durham City manager for Economic and Workforce Development; Jamie Glass, vice president of Continuing Education at Durham Tech, Keith Norwood, chair of the N.C. Association of Workforce Development Boards, and David Sweaney, regional manager of ACT, Inc. Please RSVP by June 16 at 919-536-7222, ext. 4014 or at moorem@durhamtech.edu To learn more about the National Career Readiness Certificate, visit http://www.durhamtech.edu/html/corporate/crccertificate.htm
