The Small Business Center Network, comprised of 58 Small
Business Centers throughout North Carolina, supports the
development of new businesses and the growth of existing
businesses as a community-based provider of business training,
counseling, and resource information.

to your questions such as where to register
a business, what licenses
are needed, and how to write a winning business plan.
Resources in SBC
- One on one private business counseling:
We offer a free, confidential service for ideas or concerns you
may have about your business.
- Referrals for specialized resources:
We are able to refer you to a specialist for your needs
when starting your own business, such as licenses, employee
benefits, loans, taxes, etc.
- Monthly seminars - "Thinking of Starting a Business": This gives you the most important
steps to take when beginning your own business (For more
information go to the seminars page).
- Access to current business and
market periodicals: We provide graphs, charts, and statistics for
Durham County on growth and economy. QuickBooks accounting software helps you manage your finances and run your business by the numbers.
