What is the SBCN? The Small Business Center Network, comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses as a community-based provider of business training, counseling, and resource information.

The Small Business Center (SBC) provides a wealth of resources and contacts with the community for helping make your business thrive. Get answers to your questions such as where to register a business, what licenses are needed, and how to write a winning business plan.

One on one private business counseling: We offer a free, confidential service for ideas or concerns you may have about your business.
Referrals for specialized resources: We are able to refer you to a specialist for your needs when starting your own business, such as licenses, employee benefits, loans, taxes, etc.
Monthly seminars - "Thinking of Starting a Business": This gives you the most important steps to take when beginning your own business (For more information go to the seminars page).
Access to current business and market periodicals: We provide graphs, charts, and statistics for Durham County on growth and economy. QuickBooks accounting software helps you manage your finances and run your business by the numbers.
