Students who want to save their work from computer classes should bring a Memory Stick to class.

Basic Computer Classes
Keyboarding – $69

This course covers basic keyboarding skills. Emphasis is on the touch system, correct techniques, and developing speed and accuracy. Basic word processing concepts and applications are introduced. No previous computer experience required. 70 hours.

PCs: Basic Proficiency Package – $104

New to computers or want to brush up on your skills? This basic class includes PC Fundamentals, Microsoft Word and Keyboarding. Take all three classes for one registration fee! Textbook included. 90 hours.

PC Fundamentals – $64

This course combines computer fundamentals with basic keyboarding and mouse instruction. Hands-on experience is designed to demystify the computer for beginners. Experience how applications can enhance your ability to compete in the world of technology. Recommended for new users. 30 hours.

Certification Classes
A+ Certification Preparation – Hardware and Software – $69

Basic hardware and software of a PC, including operations and interactions with peripherals are covered. Hardware topics include component identification, the memory system, peripheral installations and configuration, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repair. Software topics include how to install device drivers, resolve resource conflicts, and configure and optimize operating systems. 60 hours.

Web Page Design – $79

Students plan, design, create and publish a working web site. Topics include text editor, Macromedia Dreamweaver, interface design, HTML, graphics and site management. Skills are introduced through structured exercises, and applied through individual creative projects. 45 hours.

Microsoft Classes

These computer classes provide an introduction to popular operating systems and application software packages. You’ll be introduced to major features and capabilities while learning to use your computer more effectively and efficiently, all at an affordable cost. “Windows skills required” means you are comfortable using a mouse and typing on a computer keyboard. In addition, you must have used a computer with Windows installed.

Microsoft Excel – $64

Learn to create, save, and retrieve spreadsheets. Perform complex mathematical operations through the use of functions. Design graphs and generate reports. 30 hours.

Microsoft PowerPoint – $64

Create and run a presentation by adding templates, text, and objects. nsert and edit pictures, import clip art, link and embed objects, and edit graphs. Use word processing and graphics to create slide shows, presentation pages, handouts, speaker notes, and overheads. 18 hours.

Microsoft Word – $64

Learn basic to intermediate level word processing functions. Create and format documents. Create tables and learn to use automated tools. 30 hours.

Introducción a la computación e Internet en español – $64

Este es un curso ideal para aprender los conceptos básicos en computación y cómo navegar en Internet. Aprenda a usar el teclado, junto con Microsoft Word, Excel e Internet. Curso dictado en español. No necesita libro de texto. 52 horas.

Specialty Software
AutoCAD – $69

Learn basic AutoCAD command structures and generate simple drawings. Be introduced to two-dimensionaldrawing techniques and 3-D modeling. Drawing file protocols and data management are emphasized. 40 hours.

Human Resources Development (HRD)

Human Resources Development (HRD) provides courses in: Basic Keyboarding for the Workplace, Computer Basics for the Job Search (English and Español), and Computer Skills for the Office Professional (English and Español). HRD courses are FREE to qualified participants. Qualified participants are unemployed, have been notified of a lay-off, or are underemployed. Underemployed persons are working part time and/or are eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit. View the HRD class schedule for more information.
