The Green Way!
Recycle the Rain – $65

Did you know that rain barrels conserve water and help lower costs? One rain barrel can save approximately 1,300 gallons of water during peak summer months. Did you know that rain barrels reduce water pollution by reducing stormwater runoff, which can contain pollutants like sediment, oil, grease, bacteria, and nutrients? Rain barrels can be used to save water for plants during dry periods. They can also be arranged to slowly release the collected rainfall to areas that can soak up the water, reducing stormwater runoff and increasing groundwater recharge. This workshop teaches you how to make your own rain barrel. Barrels and supplies are included in the tuition. You may bring your own paint to design your barrel to be a decorative accessory for your yard or garden! (Because this course is self-supporting, no tuition waivers or exemptions are allowed.) 3 hours.
