The Small Business Center regularly presents a variety of courses on small business management topics. Classes usually meet one evening a week for several weeks. Use the Continuing Education and Corporate Education Registration Form for the following courses.

 

The REAL Entrepreneur: How To Start and Build Your Own Business – $89

Do you REALLY want to learn how to start your own business? Participants in this popular 10-week course examine in detail how to develop a business idea, do market analysis, and then write a business plan. Gain knowledge from hands-on activities and guest speakers who are successful business owners. Taught by La Tasha Gaddy-Best of NCIMED. 30 hours.

The Fast Entrepreneur: Getting to Profitability in a Hurry – $79

Do you want to seriously improve your net margins? This class is for existing business owners and fast-start new entrepreneurs who desire to make a six-figure net income within three years. This introduction to one of the most popular small business accounting applications tracks general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, checking accounts, and provides easy-to-use reporting features. 12 hours. People with a valid N.C. notary public commission may take the Electronic Notary (e-notary) class. Students must present their notary number from the N.C. Secretary of State’s office. Textbook included. (Because this course is self-supporting, no tuition waivers or exemptions are allowed.) 4.5 hours.
