To be eligible for graduation, students
must complete all courses and credit hours required in the plan
of study under which they were admitted with a minimum grade point
average of 2.0 (C). In addition, specified programs may require
a grade of no less than C in some courses as designated in the
appropriate program handbook.
Every academic year, each curriculum program produces a plan of
study for students admitted in that specific year. A student who
applies for readmission is accepted under the plan of study in
effect at the time of readmission, not under the plan of study
in effect at the time of the original admission. Students who
change their curriculum program are also admitted to the new program
under the current year’s plan of study.
Students should apply for their degree, diploma, or certificate
one semester before their anticipated date of graduation using
the graduation application form.
For example, students should apply for graduation when they register
for fall semester if they plan to graduate at the end of spring
semester. Students must apply for graduation in order to have
completion information recorded on their transcripts.
Candidates applying for graduation currently pay a graduation
fee to cover the cost of the diploma and cover. No refunds are
possible after the diplomas have been ordered. Students who wish
to participate in the annual commencement exercises may purchase
caps and gowns through the Counseling and Student Development
office. Graduating curriculum (college) students pay an $18 fee
for their caps, tassels, gowns, and graduation announcements.
This fee is subject to change.
