The purpose of the Workplace Spanish Certificate is to provide health care professionals with the tools they need to improve communication with Spanish-speaking patients and their families. This 17-credit-hour certificate program was established in 2010 in response to the growing number of Spanish-speaking clients in the health care industry. The program was designed for a broad audience of medical professionals including, nurses, doctors, technicians, and administrative staff. Students will develop listening and oral communication skills using a highly practical methodology. Course material includes highly interactive exercises that focus on applicable and relevant material designed and written for the health care professional.
