Patriot Day and Constitution Day

In honor of Patriot Day (September 11) and Constitution Day (September 17), the DTCC Student Senate want to make you aware of opportunities to commemorate these two occasions from September 11 - 17.

Constitution photoWe have created a Veterans Honor Roll for students, faculty, and staff who have served or are actively serving in any of our military branches to sign with the following information: rank, last name, branch of service, and years served.

There will also be drop boxes along with note cards for students, faculty, and staff to write a note of appreciation to our police officers and fire fighters. After September 17, these notes will be collected and distributed to local police officers and fire fighters in Durham and Orange County.

For Constitution Day on September 17, there will be free copies of the United States Constitution for students, faculty, and staff to take with them.

Baskets with yellow ribbons will be available and we and ask students, faculty, and staff to take a ribbon and pin it on them and wear it during the week in continued support of our troops that continue to serve our country.

All of these activities will be available in the following locations:
Phail Wynn, Jr. Student Services Center lobby
Orange County Campus lobby
Northern Durham Center lobby

We hope you will stop by during the week at one of these locations and honor the men and women who have served or continue to serve in the military, police department, and fire department.

Learn more about the United States Constitution by visiting the Constitution Center website.
