The Instructional Delivery Decision Support System (DSS)

The Instructional Delivery Decision Support System (DSS) is a database designed to support curriculum program directors and other administrators by providing summary information about programs and courses. This system shows trends over time on indicators which contribute to revenue (FTE) and expense (staffing levels, teaching loads, and course offerings) categories of a program.

The DSS contains these features:

  • Curriculum Course Schedule Analysis: These reports summarize program course offerings. They break the information down by semester, time of day, and campus location.
  • Program Profiles*: These reports summarize a program’s annual trends on four indicators (a “help” feature provides interpretive guidance):
    • Staffing Levels (computed as “Faculty Full-time Equivalents”—FFTE)
    • Teaching Load (computed against a standard of 18 contact hours per FFTE)
    • FTE Generation
    • Enrollment and Class Size
(Note: *Program Profiles are under development for DSS 2.0)
  • FTE Reports: These reports summarize FTE generation by department, program, campus location, and time of day.
