| Welcome to a listing of funding/naming opportunities through the Durham Technical Community College Foundation! Private donations to the Foundation support such initiatives as restricted or endowed scholarships, the Single Parent Program, the Peer Mentoring Project, and the Teaching & Learning Center. Since establishing the Durham Technical Community College Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c) 3 organization, private gifts have greatly enhanced the college’s education and training efforts. Through your generosity, deserving students will be awarded annual scholarships, faculty and staff will benefit from professional development opportunities, and scholarships, classrooms, labs, and teaching auditoriums can bear the name of loved ones you want to honor or remember. Without reservation, we ask you to consider Durham Technical Community College in your philanthropic plans. Clearly no other institution in Durham has done more to improve the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for reviewing the following funding opportunities and please contact me for further information. |

| Teaching & Learning Center: Faculty
Mentoring Program No minimum donation required. Faculty Mentoring Program providing stipends to veteran faculty willing to assist and mentor new faculty into the college’s culture and with instructional critiques and suggestions. |

| Professional Development Funds for Faculty/Staff No minimum donation required. Each North Carolina community college receives a base allotment from the state to be used for faculty/staff professional development. Durham Tech’s annual Professional Development program goes well beyond the limits of these funds requiring private support to supplement state funds. |
|
| Single Parent Program Funds No minimum donation required. Formed in 1986 in response to the financial barriers encountered by this population. Based on financial need and a stringent set of eligibility requirements, participants are assisted with tuition, books, transportation, and child-care funding. As long as a recipient maintains eligibility requirements and needs assistance, the SP Program will assist her until she reaches her educational goal. Statistics show that students participating in this group have a 90% educational goal completion rate. Private funding is needed to supplement federal Child Care Funds provided through the Carl D. Perkins Act. |
