| Durham Tech Offers a Variety of Small Business Courses | ||||||

For immediate use (Durham, N.C.) –This fall Durham Technical Community College’s Small Business Center offers a variety of entrepreneurship courses on small business management topics. Classes typically meet one evening a week for three to 10 weeks. New this fall is Your Financials and Cash Flow Made Easy. Learn how to understand your company’s financial statements and become better grounded in basic bookkeeping. Sharpen your financial expertise by learning what your balance sheet and profit and profit and loss statements really mean. The course is taught by Debbie Mangum of La Femme Concierge. Also offered this fall is Planning for Success - How to Write an Extraordinary Business Plan. The course is targeted to either those starting or already operating a business. The course focuses on the mechanics of writing a business plan, as well as the critical thinking necessary for a plan. The course is taught by Carl Baumann, a SCORE volunteer. Understand how to become successful in sales through Learn to Sell Like Your Livelihood Depends on It. Define and describe your products, services, and ideas, identify relevant decision makers, obtain appointments, make effective presentations, create lasting relationships, and make a win-win close. The course is taught by Jim Joyce of Sales Partners.
