(Durham, N.C.) – North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and Durham Technical Community College announce a new partnership for students pursuing a career in hospitality and tourism professions.
Using the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) between the University of North Carolina and the North Carolina Community College System as its foundation, this Study Track Agreement prepares students to transfer seamlessly into the Hospitality and Tourism major at NCCU upon completion of an associate degree at Durham Tech. In an added advantage to students, NCCU’s Hospitality and Tourism program will be completely online within a year.
“As travel and tourism become a more important sector in our local economy, it is important that we provide opportunities for Durham and Orange County residents to pursue professional careers close to home,” said Durham Tech President Bill Ingram. “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with North Carolina Central University by entering into this agreement.”
"This partnership further strengthens our existing relationship with Durham Tech and we are pleased to be able to provide such a viable option for students who want to purse a four-year degree and a career in the hospitality and tourism industry," said NCCU Chancellor Charlie Nelms.
