- How do I register?
You will be asked to submit verification of eligibility to DTCC Attention: Nursing Assistant Program, 1637 Lawson Street Durham, NC 27703, or fax information to 919-686-3479. The Nursing Assistant Program will assign a Personal Identification Number (PIN) verifying your eligibility to register. Registration will take place at the Continuing Education Building and NC Mutual Building 6th floor until December15, after January 7, 2009 registrations will be accepted at our new location SouthBank Building 3rd floor between the hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm. Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Can I register early?
You may register at any time prior to the start of the course as long as you have the PIN. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Can someone else register for me?
Anyone may register for you; however, you must complete a Continuing
Education registration form. Make sure that the person registering
for you has your PIN form and the correct amount for the fee.

How do I become eligible for the
Nurse Aide II class?
You must have a current NC Nurse Aide I listing; a letter of verification from a former employer that you have 6 months of Nurse Aide I experience; and a high school diploma or GED.
- What is the PIN number?
A number that is assigned to you that makes you eligible to register. You will not be able to register without one.

Payment must accompany registration.

How much are the books?

Are there any other supplies that
I will need and how much will they cost?
You will need a uniform or scrubs, white shoes, stethoscope and transfer (gait) belt. Costs will vary and specific information regarding supplies will be reviewed during the orientation session on the first day of class.

Are there other expenses?
A national criminal record background check, health immunizations, and Health Care Provider CPR certification may be required for some clinical rotations. Information regarding these requirements will be reviewed during the orientation session on the first day of class.

Is a criminal background check conducted by the county courthouse acceptable?
No. A nationwide background check is required and DTCC request students use the contracted vendor.

If an agency is paying for my class
and books what do I need to bring to registration?
Bring 2 copies of the letter of payment to registration, i.e. one copy for registration and one copy for the bookstore if the agency is paying for your books. You will not need to bring any money to registration if you are being sponsored by an agency.
