- Who can register for the NA I Refresher program?
A student registering for the Refresher class must have been listed on a Nurse Aide Registry within the past five years.
- I was listed in another state. Can I still take the Refresher class
in NC?
Yes. You must supply us with proof of listing/certification in the state where you are/were registered, so that we can verify your listing. You must have a current or expired listing within the past 5 years.
- How do I register?
You will be asked to submit verification of eligibility to DTCC Attention: Nursing Assistant Program, 1637 Lawson Street Durham, NC 27703, or fax information to 919-686-3479. Registration will take place on Main Campus - Corporate Education building, or NC Mutual building until December 15, after January 7, 2009 registrations will be accepted at our new location SouthBank Building 3rd floor between the hours of
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
- What is the PIN number?
The PIN is the assigned Personal Identification Number given to eligible applicants.
- How much is the NA I Refresher?
$80.35
- Is there a book for this class?
Yes. The book is The Nursing Assistant Handbook 2nd Edition ,published by Hartman. The workbook is optional. Cost is approximately $25.00(book) and $13 (workbook) approximately with a total price for set $40. Both books are available at the DTCC bookstore. - Where do I take the state exam?
Competency testing is offered through Person Vue, which has test sites located across North Carolina.
