“e-Benefits and Challenges: Technology Implications for Clinical Research”

This first symposium hosted by the Clinical Trials Research Associate Program will invite students and community clinical research professionals to learn more about electronic data capture (EDC) and other technologies and how they have changed clinical research.

The symposium would benefit clinical research professionals who are interested in industry changes with the incorporation of electronic data capture (EDC) and other technologies into the clinical research process.  These individuals may include research site investigators and coordinators, clinical research assistants/associates, project managers, data managers, clinical compliance /quality personnel, and regulatory associates.  Attendees may have varied experience with EDC and may work in a variety of clinical research environments. 

At the conclusion of the conference, attendees should be able to:

  • Describe electronic data capture (EDC) and related technologies.
  • Discuss the benefits and challenges when using EDC.
  • Describe the differences in how a clinical research study using EDC is conducted from the perspective of the CRO, the site and the auditor.
  • Differentiate the operational challenges experienced by the CRO, the site and the auditor when working with EDC.

Student attendee (with valid student ID) prior to April 4th: $25; after April 4th: $35
Professional/Community attendee prior to April 4th: $35; after April 4th: $45
