Keyboarding – $65

This course covers basic keyboarding skills. Emphasis is on the touch system, correct techniques, and developing speed and accuracy. Basic word processing concepts and applications are introduced. No previous computer experience required. 70 hours.

Digital Photography Using Photoshop –$60

Do you want to improve your digital photographs by sharpening or color correcting them? Would you like to modify your images by "aging" them, removing backgrounds, adding frames, and using other effects? Bring images from your camera to class or use those provided. Increase your knowledge in this interactive lab workshop using Photoshop. Topics include retouching photos for color balance, sharpness, perspective, corrections, contract, and “red eye” removal. Participants learn to work with text and create digital frames around images. 16 hours.

PC Fundamentals – $60

This course combines personal computer fundamentals with basic keyboarding and mouse instruction. Hardware and software hands-on experiences are designed to demystify the personal compute for the beginner. Current hardware and software terms and concepts are demonstrated. Experience how software applications can enhance your ability to compete in the world of technology. Recommended for new computer users. 30 hours.

Web Page Design – $75

This hands-on course guides the student through the planning, design, creation, and publication of a working web site. Skills are introduced through structured exercises and applied through individual creative projects. Basic topics include page creation using a text editor and Macromedia Dreamweaver, interface design, site planning, HTML, and graphic use. Advanced topics include Dynamic HTML, CSS, site management, creating web graphics, an overview of forms, JavaScript, and database-driven web sites. Internet experience, textbook, and homework required. No prior web page experience needed. 45 hours.

Microsoft Classes

These computer classes provide an introduction to popular operating systems and application software packages. You’ll be introduced to major features and capabilities while learning to use your computer more effectively and efficiently, all at an affordable cost. “Windows skills required” means you are comfortable using a mouse and typing on a computer keyboard. In addition, you must have used a computer with Windows installed.

Microsoft Access XP– $60

Learn how to employ the power of this relational database for forms, reporting, and query functions. Discover how easily data can be input and retrieved with user-friendly interface. Additional topics include macros, data conversion, and graphs. 30 hours.

Microsoft Excel – $60

From the basics, learn to create worksheets using basic formulas in addition to saving and retrieving spreadsheet files using toolbars. Perform complex mathematical operations through the use of functions. Design graphics and generate reports. Windows or equivalent experience recommended. 30 hours.

Microsoft PowerPoint – $60

Learn how to create and run a presentation by adding templates, text, and objects. Learn to insert and edit pictures, import clip art, link and embed objects, and edit graphs. Use word processing and graphics to create slide shows, presentation pages, handouts, speaker notes, and overheads. Window or equivalent experience recommended. 18 hours.

Microsoft Word – $60

Learn basic to intermediate-level word processing functions. Enter, insert, delete, and replace text; set margins and tabs; print and save documents; create headers and footers; and insert page breaks. Create, modify, and sort tables. Use advanced spell check features, graphics features, and other automated tools. Windows or equivalent experience recommended. 30 hours.
