This course is designed for students who have a desire to develop knowledge and skills for emerging green opportunities, especially in edible landscaping. The course covers current and historical trends in environment, permaculture principles, basic forest ecology, DIY garden design, and permanent agriculture. Students also gain hands-on experience working in existing gardens and go on local field trips on two Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. (Because this course is self-supporting, no tuition waivers or exemptions are allowed.) 24 hours.

This course is designed as an examination preparation course for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System®. Instructional content focuses on the integrated project management and documentation processes that are fundamental to the LEED program. The course also offers tips about work as a LEED-accredited professional. Students receive an overview of recommended study methods, exam-taking skills, and practice questions for the LEED for New Construction v2.2 accreditation exam. Upon completing this course, taking practice tests, and studying the reference guide, students are prepared to take the LEED exam.
