| Basic Activity Professional Training for Health Care Facilities – $179 |
This course is designed to provide basic training to individuals desiring to become an activity professional
in a health care-related setting. Activity directors for adult care homes are required by the N.C. Division of
Facility Services to complete a minimum of 50 hours in an approved Activity Director course. Activity directors
for nursing facilities are required to complete the 50-hour basic course with an additional minimum of 10
hours in documentation, including the assessment and care planning process. This approved course includes
an overview of the activity profession, human development and the aging process, standards of practice, and

| NEW! EKG Technician Certification Program – $1,099 |
EKG technicians are responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to monitor and record
electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. These tests include basic EKGs, Holter Monitoring (portable
EKG which records activity for 24-48 hours), 12 lead placement and stress tests (treadmill). EKG technicians
assist a physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and blood vessel irregularities.
This comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG
technicians and to take the American Society of Phlebotomy Technician (ASPT) – Electrocardiograph
(EKG) Technician exam in addition to other national certification exams. This course includes important
practice and background information about the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease
processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, the Holter monitor, electrocardiography,
and echocardiography. (Because this course is self-supporting, no tuition waivers or exemptions
