A rich life outside the classroom is an important part of the college
experience. We at Durham Tech strive to provide experiences outside
the classroom to give you opportunities to develop leadership skills
and learn more about yourself. Listed below are the clubs, societies,
and honors available to the students who seek more from their college
experience.

Durham Tech students and faculty are constantly making their marks --
on campus, in their fields of study, and in the community.
Durham Tech mathematics students finished first in both the state of North Carolina and the Southeast region of the United States in the 2008-2009 national Student Math League competition. The results were recently announced from two rounds of testing during the year. The event was sponsored by the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges.
Durham Tech has taken first place in the state of North Carolina in this competition 12 of the past 16 years. This is the third time that Durham Tech has won the Southeast Region in the last four years.
The top five Durham Tech scorers were: Arun Sivasankaran, Tim Pluta, Xiaotong Li, Nathaniel Davis, and Mark Griffin. Durham Tech mathematics instructor Chris Mansfield coaches the team.
