Here's what some former students have to say about their experiences during and after the University Transfer program . . .

Carmella Blakney, a '98 graduate of Riverside High School, is a junior majoring in business marketing at Meredith College. While at Durham Tech, she received a N.C. Community College System Academic Excellence Award and was named to the USA Today All-USA Academic Team. "The small classes and personal attention really allowed me to excel," she said. "Durham Tech made transferring to Meredith seamless."

Ali Safavi, a '00 graduate of East Chapel Hill High School, is currently a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in bio-medical engineering. He took all the courses he needed at Durham Tech to transfer into UNC's program. He also picked up leadership skills as a Student Ambassador and was active in the Science Club. "I wouldn't trade the Durham Tech experience for anything. You meet students of all ages and backgrounds," he said. Ali plans to go to graduate school.

Rachel Wellman , is a '97 graduate of Jordan High School and currently a junior forestry major at North Carolina State University. "Durham Tech really prepares you for the university experience. I was much better prepared than a lot of students," said Rachel. "Durham Tech's faculty and advisors care how well you do and take extra time to help you. There's a community atmosphere."
