Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training
Training made possible by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency EPA to the City of Durham, NC. The Training is conducted by Durham Technical Community College (DTCC). Participants will qualify for entry-level positions within the Environmental Technology field, such as general construction, wastewater plant operators, and environmental techs. They will also be provided certifications and technical skills training that will enable them to seek employment in related job markets such as asbestos abatement and HAZWOPER certifications. http://durhamnc.gov/ich/cb/oewd/Pages/Brownfield-Training-Program.aspx and are due by Monday, July 5, 2013, by 5 p.m.
Training is non-paid, at no cost to participants, and comprised of the following components:
Note: Background checks including: driving records and drug tests will be conducted by employers. Due to the nature of some jobs, criminal backgrounds and serious driving offenses will limit employment.
