Orange County Campus
The Orange County Campus (OCC) at Durham Tech, opened in May 2008, is a 20-acre campus centrally located in Orange County. The purpose of the campus is to better serve Orange County residents as they pursue their education, workforce training, and lifelong learning. The first phase of the Orange County Campus includes a 40,000-square-foot brick structure located in the Waterstone Development outside of Hillsborough. Prior to May 2008, Orange County was the largest county in North Carolina to not have a community college's facility.
This state-of-the-art building houses 22 instructional spaces, including classrooms, computer and science labs, a library, a Sustainability Technologies lab, flexible use space, instructional and student support services areas, and faculty and student lounges. This facility also has many “green” building features, including aluminum light shelves, photovoltaic systems for solar-assisted water heating, rainwater collection and reuse, waterless urinals, and operable window vents in all classroom areas. All of these features contribute to energy efficiency and cost savings.
OCC's Got You Covered!
Until December 12th, the Orange County Campus is collecting new and gently used hats, coats, scarves, gloves, and clothing of all sizes for children and adults. All clothing will go to the Catholic Charities in Durham. Join us in helping those less fortunate this holiday season.
