*A prerequisite of the program is completion of the Community Spanish Facilitator Certificate option (C55370F) or successful completion of a translation/interpretation placement test.   

The Medical Spanish Facilitator Certificate is recognized by IMIA (International Medical Interpreters Association) as one of the training programs in North Carolina acceptable as proof of medical interpreter education.

ENG 070, 080, 090, 090A, or DRE 096, 097, 098may be required based on placement test results.

** Native/Heritage Spanish speakers will take either ENG 111, COM 231, or DRA 122 in place of the the SPA 221 Spanish Conversation course.
