Thanks to the generosity of private donors, Durham Technical Community College is able to provide a number of scholarships to our students each year. We offer both merit-based and need-based awards.

Scholarships are competitive, based on scholarship criteria specified by the donor(s). Scholarship recipients must re-apply each year to be considered for additional scholarship funding. A scholarship selection committee of faculty and staff reviews scholarship applications and selects recipients. (Sorry, but incomplete scholarship applications cannot be considered.) All applicants will be notified by email when award decisions are finalized.

Scholarships do not require repayment unless you receive an award and then drop your classes. In that case, you must notify the Durham Tech Foundation immediately. You will need to repay any scholarship funds received for that semester.

All fields are required to be completed unless otherwise noted.

High school students must submit a transcript from their high school to Durham Tech’s Admissions office.

All applicants must forward a link to the Scholarship Recommendation Form to a faculty member in your program of study who has taught you within the past year. Faculty members should complete online recommendations by April 16, 2012. Certain scholarships require specific faculty or staff to complete recommendations. The college and DTCC Foundation encourage scholarship recipients to acknowledge their donor by writing a note of thanks. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend any scholarship functions the Foundation plans if their donor will attend. Advance notice will be given about any planned events.

If awarded a scholarship, I understand that I must continue to meet the scholarship eligibility criteria for my award to receive additional disbursements of funds.
