ADVANCE (AmeriCorps Dedicated to VA & NC Children Excelling) is an AmeriCorps Education Award Program created by North Carolina Campus Compact. Through this program, students mentor at-risk K-12 students at a local school.

Members in ADVANCE who complete 300 hours of service (approximately 5-10 hours per week), are eligible to receive an $1,175 educational award. This award can be used for previously incurred or future educational expenses and is valid for 7 years.

Information sessions will be held:

• October 3, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., in the Durham Tech/Glaxo Wellcome Technology Center, room 976
• October 6, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., in the Phail Wynn, Jr. Student Services Center, rooom 1115.
