Stop Hunger Now Event

Pantry Donations PhotoOn Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Durham Tech employees and students, friends and families are invited to participate in a Stop Hunger Now meals packaging event and food drive at the college. The event will take place from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in the main lobby area, Multi-Purpose Room, and Cafeteria dining room of the Wynn Student Services Center. The event is in conjunction with Durham Rotary Clubs, Duke, and NCCU. We are very excited about this opportunity to tie in the National Day of Service with the Rotary Club motto of "Service Above Self."

The food drive has already started and will continue through January 20. Any donations of non-perishable food can be delivered to the Durham Tech Campus Harvest Food Pantry.

We need hundreds of volunteers — four shifts of 175 volunteers each, plus more for set-up and clean-up — on January 20. Shifts are two hours long separated by a half-hour break for re-stocking, starting from 9 – 11 a.m. You can register for shifts at
