Backward Design is an organizational strategy to design classroom activities that support student learning toward instructor-driven learning goals. After a brief introduction to the principles of Backward Design, participants will work on designing or redesigning a lesson plan and then there will be time to discuss the process at the end. Participants should bring 1) a lesson plan or topic to be planned for a lecture or unit for their course, and 2) a laptop (or plan to use one of the Durham Tech laptops we will have on hand). Instructors of all disciplines welcome!
