Cooper Street Water Shut Down
The project will include shutting the domestic water off to (ALL) Durham Tech building’s and businesses on Cooper Street in order to tie in the water line for the new F:acility Services building. RN Harris School will not be affected by this water shut down. Beginning at 3 p.m., equipment will be mobilized and staging set up for the project to begin. The water will be shut down at 5 p.m. and is expected to be shut down until 9 p.m. Students, employees, and visitors should be advised that there will be noise, dust, and exterior obstructions associated with this project. Please use caution when visiting main campus on Cooper Street. Students and employees who wish to request a reasonable accommodation due to this project should contact Disability Services (students) or Human Resources (employees).
Start date: September 20, 2019, 3 p.m.
Estimated completion date: September 20, 2019, 9 p.m.
Impact: Water to the following Durham Tech building’s will be shut down. Bldg. 10, Bldg. 4, and Bldg. 9. All restrooms and water fountains will be out of service from 5 -9 pm. Class schedules will need to be adjusted on Friday, September 20, 2019 from the hours of 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Newton Building Gas Line Repair
Dominion Energy has identified an area of the gas line that supplies the Newton that is in need of scheduled maintenance. During this time, the maintenance performed may cause a slight odor of natural gas in the surrounding area. Please be aware that this is routine maintenance and there is no identified risk. This maintenance will not result in a lack of services to the building as water and electricity will not be affected. Impact: Minimal inconvenience due to contractor presence and possible gas smell.
