Each June, the library celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities by highlighting resources in our collection. We have recently added several new DVDs and books at Main Campus Library! Like YA and/or classic literature? Like audiobooks? Like free things? Every summer, AudioFile's Sync summer "reading" program provides free weekly downloads of two audiobooks: one contemporary YA book and one work of classic literature that relates to the same theme. The new season of free downloads starts on Thursday, May 7 with Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca. All of the library staff would like to extend their congratulations to the Durham Tech Class of '15! Here's the information you need to prepare for and participate in DTCC commencement activities. Note that you have to purchase your graduation outfit by May 14, attend rehearsal (this is required!) for the graduation ceremony on May 18 at 10:30 a.m. and show up for the actual ceremony on May 18 at 4 p.m. It has been a pleasure to work with you. The library has a display on the lower level of medical memoirs written from the perspective of patients, nurses, doctors, and health care workers. We also feature a few related DVDs as well. A few of these titles are at the Orange County campus. Just let us know if you want to have a title sent over to your campus. Citation Workshops for students at the Durham Tech Library ERC Computer Lab classroom 52 Wed. Mar. 21st 5:30-6:45 p.m Tues. Apr. 3rd 12:30-1:45 p.m. Wed. Apr. 11th 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Workshop Objectives: -Learn to determine why, when, and how to cite sources -Learn to locate and follow proper citation guidelines for MLA and APA formats -Learn how to avoid plagiarism -Practice creating citations No pre-registration is required but each workshop is limited to the first 30 participants
