The Association in Applied Science (AAS) program curriculum prepares students to install, configure, and support an organization’s Internet-connected workstation and server systems; analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate software and service installations; and plan, implement, and monitor networking, compute, and storage systems with virtualization and Cloud platforms.
Students can earn their Medical Assisting diplomas in four semesters. Coursework covers medical terminology, medical law and ethics, and admin office procedures.

Dr. Phail Wynn Jr, was president of Durham Technical Community College from 1980-2007. When Dr. Wynn made a generous donation to the library in 2007, the library created a special collection in his name. Dr. Wynn requested the collection pertain to socially responsible topics such as ecology and the environment, cultural awareness, global citizenship, teaching tolerance, appreciating diversity, fighting poverty, and promoting world peace. In October 1981, the Small Business Institute opened its doors at Durham Technical Institute. It was established to provide entrepreneurs with the information, tools, and resources needed to develop business ideas and to become viable, profitable, and successful. In 1987, the now Small Business Center moved to the historic Venable Place Business Incubator in downtown Durham to start offering workshops, business-specific course work, and one-on-one counseling. In 2003, the Center moved to the sixth floor of the NC Mutual Life Insurance Company Building, and in 2018, the Center moved to its current location in the Chesterfield Building, also downtown.
