From Ava Duvernay, director of Selma, 13th. A Netflix documentary.We invite students and employees to join Student Life and the Office of Equity and Inclusion for a Constitution Day viewing and discussion of the documentary 13th, directed by Ava DuVernay. The documentary examines the 13th Amendment and mass incarceration in America.

The virtual event will meet via Teams (see link below). After a brief introduction in Teams, each participant will view the documentary on their computer via the YouTube link provided below, while leaving the Teams window open. Following viewing the movie and a brief break, there will be a discussion via Teams to share your thoughts.

9:05 – 9:15 Greetings and overview (10 minutes)
9:15 – 10:55 Watch documentary (1 hour 40 minutes)
10:55 – 11:00 Stretch break
11:00 – 11:30 Discussion (30 minutes)

Handy Tips for managing Teams notifications:
To turn off the chat notifications, click your account on the upper-right corner >Settings >Notification >Chat messages >Off.

Notification sounds can be turned on or off. To choose if a sound plays with each new notification, select your profile picture at the top right corner of Teams, then Settings > Notifications > toggle off/on.
