Staff Association/Center for the Global Learner Lunch N Learn: Supporting Immigrant Populations in the College Access Process

Presentation focused on Supporting Immigrant Populations in the College Access Process. The session would be focused on the challenges that immigrant populations face in accessing higher education and discuss best practices to support immigrant populations overcome these challenges. There is will be strong focus on college affordability options such as FAFSA, scholarships, business sponsorships and more.

Staff will have an understanding of the challenges Hispanic/immigrant populations face in accessing college and the challenges (including policies affecting immigrant students) they face while they are enrolled as college students. We will discuss best practices for educators to support this population and share strategies to help with college access and affordability. I will end my presentation by sharing resources available to the community.
