Holiday Card Contest

Durham Tech students and employees are invited to participate in the 2026 Durham Tech Holiday Card Contest, sponsored by Viva the Arts!

Contest winners will receive cash prizes:

1st place winner = $250
2nd place winner = $150
3rd place winner = $100
People's Choice Award = $100

First, second, and third place winners will be selected by Viva the Arts. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be selected by the Durham Tech community.

Artwork Guidelines

The art must be the artist’s original work that has never been published and is created solely for this contest.
Content/subject must be non-religious and must not reference religious holidays.
The image must represent a celebration of the winter holidays with subjects such as, but not limited to, landscapes, cityscapes, lights, animals, trees, snow, etc.
The image may not include text.
Examples of media include: painting, drawing, digital art, photography, printmaking, collage, etc.
If submitting digital art, please list the software used to create your work
Artwork created using generative AI will not be accepted.

Image Requirements

Image size: 5 ½ x 8 inches or 1650 x 2400 pixels (the image can be larger but must be able to be scaled down to reflect these proportions).
The orientation of the image may be horizontal or vertical.
A high resolution and well-lit image, minimum 600 DPI.
File types accepted: JPG, PNG, TIFF.
PDF files are not accepted.
