Durham Tech’s affordable pathways made even more accessible through financial support

For many students, the ability to take advantage of the affordable pathways provided by Durham Tech still depends on financial support.

This year, the need has reached an unprecedented level. For the first time ever, scholarship applications to the Durham Tech Foundation more than doubled — from 283 last year to 680 this year. The Foundation is currently able to award about 200 scholarships, potentially leaving hundreds of qualified, motivated students without the support they need to stay enrolled and succeed.

As one student shares: 
“Balancing family responsibilities with a full academic schedule is challenging, and financial stress makes it even harder. This scholarship has given me the breathing room to focus on my education without constantly worrying about making ends meet.”

Philanthropic support from people like Tina and Pakis Bessias (featured in this issue) can directly increase the number of students the Durham Tech Foundation is able to serve. These students go on to complete their education and contribute to the strength and vitality of our community.
