Library Hours for the Thanksgiving Holiday
Need to use the Durham Tech Libraries next week? Well, our hours will temporarily change. The College will be closed Wednesday, November 24 through Sunday, November 28. No classes or events will be held. The Main Campus Library will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday, November 22 and 23. The Northern Durham Center Library will be closed. Contact your librarians if you need help during this time. The Orange County Campus will be open for access on Monday and Tuesday from 8:00
New Books for Break
There is still time to check out one (or two or three or four!) of these new books to read over Thanksgiving Break. Books are a great conversation started at dinner and a great way to get some peace amidst the hectic Thanksgiving hubbub. We have SO MANY great new books that I can't include all of them. Some of the books not pictured are written by or about such notable people as Jackie Chan, Stan Lee, Harvey Milk, Malcolm Gladwell, Lois Lowry, Dapper Dan, and Edward Snowden. So come grab a book!

With the end of the Fall Semester just around the weekend and Winter Break almost upon us, we're adapting our hours while class isn't in session. Reading All the Great Things in 2020: Challenge Yourself
A new year, a new list of categories for the Durham Tech Read Great Things Challenge! What is the Read Great Things Challenge? The Read Great Things Challenge is a personal reading challenge sponsored by the Durham Tech Library that encourages folks to diversify and/or increase their reading goals by completing books throughout 2020 that fit into at least 10 of the following 12 categories: A book of short stories or essays Someone else’s favorite book A book recommended by a celebrity book club
Laptop Loaner Program at the Library
Are you using your phone to access your online coursework? Do you need a laptop for the upcoming semester? Do you know a student who needs one? As we all know, students who don't have access to the technology they need to do their school work are at a disadvantage in their classes. A smartphone is useful, but it's hard to complete a lot of coursework on a phone. And typing papers? No good. The Library has partnered with Durham Tech Student Engagement to loan laptops to student for the Fall
Fall Semester is Coming!
Fall classes start on Monday, August 16, which means next week is Fall Semester Preparation Week! The Library (and the College with the exception of the Bookstore) will be closed to students on Monday, August 9 for professional development. The Library will reopen to students on Tuesday, August 10. Check the Library and College website for up-to-date hours for next week and the fall semester. What's new for the fall semester?
