It's been twenty years since September 11, 2001. The Northern Durham Center Library currently has a 9/11 Remembrance display. As with all our displays, all books are available for checkout. Today, June 8th, is World Oceans Day, which encourages protection and conservation of the oceans. "World Oceans Day is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future." The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation has awarded $50,000 to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation to create the Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Library Endowment. Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. served as president of Durham Tech for 27 years. Upon his retirement in 2007, he established The Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Collection at the Durham Tech Library.
