The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation has awarded $50,000 to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation to create the Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Library Endowment. Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. served as president of Durham Tech for 27 years. Upon his retirement in 2007, he established The Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Collection at the Durham Tech Library. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and open access to information for all. We purchase new novels, graphic novels, books of poetry, and short story collections a few times per year using funds from our Durham Tech Foundation Campus Fund Drive account. We think that pleasure reading is important and fun! We also appreciate hearing your requests.
