We now have two great online guides for finding movies in the library's collection. One guide is for browsing titles by movie genre such as Action, History, Sports, etc... and the other is an alphabetical listing of films in our collection. We hope you'll discover lots of films that you want to watch. Thanks to our library staff member, Lauren Havens, for all of her hard work creating these new resources. Libraries and reading are associated no matter how much times change, and the Durham Tech Library is here to help you with your summer reading goals. The library is excited to announce that we now have a total of 254 loaner laptops (Dell and Acer) for students to borrow for the semester. Students who need a computer and who are currently enrolled in any Durham Tech course are eligible to complete the Computer Request Form to apply. Maggie West, Coordinator of Student Wellness and Basic Needs, receives all applications and will assess if a Chromebook will work or other options are available to meet current academic needs. Opposing Viewpoints in Context is an online resource covering today’s important social issues such as computer hacking, immigration, same-sex marriage, and voting rights. The differing viewpoints present each side of an issue and help students develop critical thinking skills and draw their own conclusions.
