Did you know that the Durham Tech Library has a whole collection of children's picture books? Well, we do! They are located against the wall on the lower level of the library. We have classics, awards winners, and freshly published titles for you check out. My personal favorites are the ones with dragons in them. Dragons are great. Come by and check some out. I bet someone wants you to read to them!
We are pleased to add the Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winning film Boyhood. The film follows a boy named Mason and his family as he experiences the pleasure and pain of growing up. Notable for being filmed with the same cast over a 12 year period, we can watch as the actors themselves grow with the roles they play. Thinking about coming to the book club? There's still time! The Durham Tech Library Book Club meets on February 4th at 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Schwartz Room in Building 5. We're reading Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates and you can check out a copy from our library, or get your own copy elsewhere. Can't finish the book in time? Come anyway! The library is excited to host our fourth annual Student Art Exhibition which features wonderful art works by our talented Associate in Fine Arts students. Paintings, ceramics, sculpture, and drawings are presented. The art will be on display through May 2nd. Enjoy photos of some of the art works in the exhibition below. An opening reception with refreshments will be held on Wed. Apr. 24 from 4:00-6:00 pm in Library Room 212 to celebrate the artists.
