Thanks to a grant that earmarked $3000 for library resources, the Durham Tech library expanded its collections of Middle East-related materials. The grant was funded by the Duke-UNC Consortium for Middle East Studie s. Made possible by Consortium’s Title VI funding, the grant, locally administered by Shannon Hahn, allowed the library to add over 100 new titles to its collections. The Durham County commissioners approved its 2025-26 budget this week, demonstrating once again their commitment to public higher education in Durham. The budget continues their support for the College’s Back to Work short-term workforce development scholarships, BULLS Life Sciences program, Durham Tech Promise scholarships, and apprenticeship opportunities. Our commissioners also provided an overall budget increase to address rising operational costs as well as funding county salary increases in line with estimated state budget salary increases.
