News: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Durham Tech alumnus pursuing his passion 
Bryan Jose Rodriguez-Sanchez, a Durham Technical Community College graduate, began to think about his passion and what he wanted his adult life to be when he heard about the College’s dual-enrollment program that gives high school students the opportunity to also take classes at the College. “I wanted to challenge myself,” Bryan said. “[Dual-enrollment] was the perfect opportunity for me to challenge myself.”  
News: Advanced Manufacturing pilot course first step in new career pathway program at Durham Tech
Patrick Wynn watches closely as the LR Mate 200iD robotic arm picks up a plastic blue disc and moves it through the mock production line in the Mechatronics Lab at Durham Tech where students are learning the basic skills required to become an entry-level manufacturing production technician.
“The community college system is the technical arm of the job market,” said Walter Bartlett, instructor at Durham Tech and former president of Piedmont Community College. “About 80 percent of jobs out there are technical based and require an associate’s degree level knowledge so it’s prudent that we offer that.”
Verification Process
During verification, the Financial Aid office is required to collect documentation to check the accuracy of your FAFSA information.
Ribbon-Cutting Event Guidelines
The Marketing and Communications Department works with campus partners to coordinate ribbon cuttings for approved events.
Industrial Systems Technology - Maintenance Certificate
It is inevitable that equipment will need maintenance. This Maintenance certificate will give students the needed skills to do this type of work proficiently.

Dulce Hernandez worked 15-hour shifts, six days per week at Chipotle while also attending Durham Tech – all to support her two children.

“Sometimes I’d be up crying at 3 a.m., after I got home from work because I knew I wasn’t going to get any sleep,” said Hernandez, 26. “But it was all worth it in the end. Everything you put in, you will get back.”
Industrial Systems Technology - HVAC Certificate
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are widely used. The HVAC certificate program will teach you more about the inner workings of these devices.

Building Safety Captains
Most buildings at Durham Tech are currently assigned a Building Safety Captain. These individuals are your colleagues who are trained to ensure the safety of their assigned buildings’ occupants. Building Safety Captains are trained to effectively assess situations and provide safety instruction and assistance to employees, students, and visitors.

The Durham Tech chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society was notified last month that it was selected as the Category 2 winner for the Fall 2018 - Spring 2019 National Service Project.
