Coming Soon! Multifactor Authentication for Canvas!
Please make a note that starting Sunday, July 26th, the way you log in to Canvas will be a little bit different. To help ensure your Durham Tech account remains secure, all employees and students will use multifactor authentication (MFA) to access Canvas.
What is MFA?
In a nutshell, MFA requires users to provide two methods of identity verification when logging in. In this case, you will enter your Durham Tech Microsoft 365 credentials (your email address and password), and then you’ll use the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device to provide a second verification. Most students and employees at Durham Tech already use MFA to log into their Microsoft 365 email accounts.
What Do I Need to Do?
To help get prepared, watch the video below to learn what to expect when logging in to Canvas with MFA.

Is Support Available?
Yes! If you’re unable to log in via MFA or if you cannot install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, please contact Durham Tech’s Information Technology Services at helpdesk@durhamtech.edu or call their Help Desk at 919-536-7200, extension 6111.
