News: Durham Tech’s Phlebotomy Program applies for, receives first accreditation
Durham Tech’s Phlebotomy Program recently applied for and received its first accreditation from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.

“To be accredited means your standards are of a higher quality,” said Dr. Jean D. Brown, director and clinical coordinator of Allied Health at Durham Tech. “We had to show proficiency in several areas. People can see Durham Tech has a high-quality Continuing Education Phlebotomy Program.”
President’s Emerging Leaders Institute
The President’s Emerging Leaders Institute will provide a cohort of 12 Durham Tech employees with the opportunity to participate in an advanced one-year leadership program that includes a personalized leadership plan and capstone project.

Behind every great community college is a foundation on a mission – to provide students with the financial means to pursue their dreams, to upgrade classrooms with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, to improve campus infrastructure, and to fund initiatives that support tomorrow’s workforce.

For Durham Tech, that mission began in 1982.

In November of that year, Durham Tech President Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr., L.A. Veasey, Dr. Susan Payne, and George Newton saw the need for donations and established the Durham Technical Institute Foundation as the fundraising arm of the College.
