Life can be unorganized, and with all the digital options out there, choosing productivity and other helpful "life" apps can almost be an additional burden. In order to help narrow down a huge playing field, the library asked Durham Tech faculty and staff what their favorite productivity apps are for managing their time and life. It's April, which means we've been reading poetry (or re-reading some of our favorites) for National Poetry Month! To help you keep track of your progress in books you're currently reading, the Durham Tech Library has created some coloring page bookmarks for you. Click on the images below to access the pdf of the coloring page bookmarks and print them out for yourself-- remember to print 2-sided short edge (which--side note--is also how you print an awesome brochure). Prizes will be available for winners in December, and we'll have a virtual celebration in January both
March 8 is International Women's Day and was created to focus on the achievements of women across the globe and emphasize the continued need to push for gender parity. This year's theme is "Choose to Challenge," acknowledging that gender bias left unchallenged allows it to continue. To celebrate International Women's Day, check out some of the books that the Durham Tech Library has online and in our physical collection to celebrate women's voices, accomplishments, and experiences. Instructional Technologies is pleased to announce that Durham Tech has selected Canvas as its learning management system to replace Sakai. Please read on for details about how this decision was reached and plans for making the transition from Sakai to Canvas. Why is Durham Tech leaving Sakai? Sakai has served Durham Tech well for 10 years. However, due to the large number of institutions leaving Sakai, we’ve become concerned about its future viability. Also, newer systems offer a more modern
On November 8, North Carolinians will cast their ballots for the 2022 midterm elections. If you are reading this and will be at least age 18 by election day, you can make an impact by being an informed and engaged citizen and casting your ballot in November, or during the early voting period (October 20 - November 5)
