Durham Technical Community College student Gaebryl Vives was selected to receive the Community Impact Student Award on November 13 in a virtual ceremony hosted by North Carolina Campus Compact -- a collaborative network of 39 colleges and universities committed to educating students for civic and social responsibility.
In 2005, Durham Technical Community College offered its first travel abroad opportunity for students.

Durham Public Schools and Durham Tech announced a major new partnership with the goal of ensuring that 25 percent of Durham Public Schools students will complete a Durham Tech workforce credential or associate degree by the time they graduate high school. DPS and Durham Tech have committed to putting in place key strategies and supports to ensure that at least 500 students each year are graduating graduate with an associate degree in addition to their high school diploma, or a credential that will enable them to enter the workforce immediately.
