Sharia Warren, who has worked at Duke Health for 12 years and is currently a clinical specialist senior there, will finish Durham Tech in May with an applied science degree in clinical research, thanks in part to the encouragement her two daughters have provided.

The Facility Services Department provides maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, shipping/receiving, and mail services for the college facilities in both Durham and Orange counties.

Durham Tech’s Early Childhood Education program recently honored students participating in apprenticeships at a signing ceremony, where 16 apprenticeships were signed. Speakers included Durham Tech instructors as well as students of the program. The ceremony started with a quote about how the love of children is placed first in the program’s plan.

In January 2023, leading global healthcare company Novo Nordisk donated $6 million to Durham Tech, the largest corporate gift in the College’s history. Gateway to College at Durham Tech is an educational option for Durham Public Schools (DPS) students ages 16-24 who have dropped out of high school but have a desire to get back on track and earn a diploma.
