Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate of arts degree in Philosophy at a four-year college or university would complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree.

In 1984, Robert L. Lyon and Elizabeth Reeves Lyon created the Lyon Merit Achievement Scholarship to support hard-working Durham Tech students. What began as a simple act of generosity grew into a scholarship that, over more than 40 years, has shaped the educational journeys of nearly 80 students. Today, the Robert L.
