The theme for this year's National Library Week was originally "Find Your Place at the Library." However, it was chosen before COVID-19 forced everyone out of physical library spaces. Letitia Johnson-Arnold, coordinator for the Community Health Worker program at Durham Tech, was honored as the 2024 Triangle Heart Walk Live Fierce award recipient at the recent American Heart Association Heart Walk.

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program announced today that Dr. Abe Dones, Durham Tech vice president and chief student services officer, is one of 40 leaders selected nationwide for the 2025-26 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship. In her sixth year of judging recipes and food at the North Carolina State Fair, Durham Tech Executive Chef and Café Manager Jordan Fulchiero looks forward to the event each fall.

Two Durham Tech students were recently selected to be a part of the Uproar Festival of Public Art contest. Both Archer Fralix, a fine arts student, and Stu Beavers, in the welding program, started formal training in their art at the College, and while they may work in different mediums, they both have a passion for public art.
