News: Durham Tech announces affordable housing initiative near Main Campus
Durham Technical Community College announced plans on Tuesday for a 124-unit affordable housing development on South Briggs Avenue near its Main Campus. The development is intended to serve both eligible students at Durham Tech and members of the broader Durham community.

During a news conference event in the Phail Wynn Jr. Student Services Center, Durham Tech President J.B. Buxton called the housing initiative “transformative” for Durham Tech students and Durham residents who need affordable housing options in the region.

News: 60 for 60: Opening the Northern Durham Center, first expansion of Durham Tech
In the late 1980s, Durham Tech was growing on all fronts and bursting at the seams for classroom space.

Leadership at the College knew it was time to expand, and in 1989, 27 acres of land were purchased on Snow Hill Road to construct the Northern Durham Center (NDC).

In a message to the campus community in 1989, then-President Phail Wynn Jr. announced the project.

“The northern campus will be built in five phases over a period of ten to fifteen years. The first of these phases includes a 30,000-square-foot, multipurpose building,” Wynn said.

What We're Watching: Exterminate All the Brutes
Exterminate All the Brutes , Raoul Peck's four-part documentary series, portrays the historic patterns of colonialist violence and genocide through powerful dramatizations. Peck includes pockets of deadpan comedy through his direct, sneering narration by having white western actors verbally deliver the thin historic justification for conquest directly to indigenous audiences. The result is a unique series of visual essays that trace this historic pattern of violence right up to the political
