Students who previously applied to or attended Durham Tech and are returning after an extended absence of three or more semesters must re-apply to the college using the CFNC enrollment application.

Charmaine Grafton was going through a difficult divorce when the second shoe dropped – she lost her job.
Grafton knew she wanted to enroll at Durham Tech, and she got the bad news three weeks after starting college classes.

The Durham County Board of Commissioners passed the 2022-23 budget Monday night. The budget includes an increased scholarship opportunities for Durham Tech students, stipends for participants in the BULLS biotechnology initiative, and a three-year commitment for 911 Academy funding, among other operational expenses. In addition to the budget, the Board approved a bond referendum for this year for a new health sciences building, a life sciences training facility, and property acquisition funding.
On this last day of Black History Month this year, I wanted to share the full story of Durham Tech’s founding as a kind of postscript to the celebrations of Black history.
